Hiram Lodge is blessed with an Education Fund that awards scholarships. This program demonstrates our Lodge’s community involvement and assists students intheir pursuit of continuing their educations. These scholarships are given in memory of Hiram Past Master Leslie M. Mullen, a beloved member of our Masonic Fraternity, in memory of Mrs. Laura Mae Miller, a Masonic widow and retired Williamson County School teacher, in memory of Zachary Birdwell, the son of Hiram Past Master and Mrs. Kevin Birdwell, and in honor of Hiram Past Master and Mrs. A. B. Church. Brother Church has been the cornerstone of the Lodge for several decades. This year the Education Fund will distribute a total of $7,500 to high school graduates. Justin McIntosh is a graduate of Spring Hill High School. Justin is awarded $2,500 to attend Middle Tennessee State University, where he plans to major in electrical engineering. Zachary Freeman is a graduate of Page High School. Zachary is awarded $2,500 to attend The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he plans to major in business. Kristi Reinagel is a graduate of Forrest High School. Kristi is awarded $1,000 to attend Austin Peay State University, where she will study nursing. Carra Linde is a graduate of Ravenwood High School. Carra is awarded $1,000 to attend Tennessee Tech University, where she will study nursing. Miles Looser is a graduate of John Overton High School. Miles is awarded $500 to attend The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he plans to major in mathematics. Please join our Lodge as we recognize these winners at the Widows Tea on Sunday, June 27 at 2 p.m. Congratulations to all these worthy graduates! Hiram Lodge has available two Masonic scholarships of $2,500 each. These are given in memory of Hiram Past Master Leslie M. Mullen, a beloved member of our Masonic Fraternity, in memory of Laura Mae Miller, a Masonic widow and retired Williamson County School teacher, in memory of Zachary Birdwell, the son of Hiram Past Master and Mrs. Kevin Birdwell and in honor of Hiram Past Master and Mrs. A. B. Church. Brother Church has been the cornerstone of the Lodge for several decades. These listed have been most generous in supporting our Scholarship Fund both actively and posthumously. These scholarships are to assist a graduating high school senior or a post graduate student who has been recommended by a member of Hiram Lodge #7 F. & A. M. and are chosen by the Scholarship Committee. Winners will be notified by mail with an invitation to the award presentation in June.
